INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY (w/o Trailer Towing System)

(a) Coat 4 new O-rings with ATF. |
(b) Install the 4 O-rings, transmission oil cooler spacer and transmission oil cooler to the automatic transmission.
(c) Temporarily install the bolt A.
(d) Install the 2 bolts B and tighten them to the specified torque. Then tighten bolt A to the specified torque.
Torque: 21 N·m (214 kgf·cm, 16 ft·lbf)
2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY (w/ Trailer Towing System)

(a) Coat 4 new O-rings with ATF. |
(b) Install the 4 O-rings, transmission oil cooler thermostat and transmission oil cooler to the automatic transmission.
(c) Temporarily install the bolt A.
(d) Install the 2 bolts B and tighten them to the specified torque. Then tighten bolt A to the specified torque.
Torque: 21 N·m (214 kgf·cm, 16 ft·lbf)

(e) Connect the 2 No. 2 transmission oil cooler hoses to the transmission oil thermostat. HINT:

3. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS PIPE ASSEMBLY
|
(a) Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses with the 2 clips and install the water by-pass pipe with the bolt. Torque: 18 N·m (184 kgf·cm, 13 ft·lbf) HINT:
Make sure the pinching portion of each clip is facing the direction shown in the illustration. |
4. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
5. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
6. ADJUST AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
(a) Adjust automatic transmission fluid
.
7. INSPECT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK
8. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK
9. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
